Josiane Kwenda

Country Manager for Senegal, Cape Verde, Guinea Bissau, Mauritania and The Gambia, IFC

Mrs. Josiane KWENDA is IFC’s Country Manager for Senegal, Cape Verde, Guinea Bissau, Mauritania and The Gambia since August 2020. As Country Manager, Mrs. KWENDA is in charge of implementing countries  strategies which aim to identify investment opportunities and mobilize financing to support the private sector development. Prior to that, within IFC’s Infrastructure unit, Mrs. KWENDA structured and led projects in the energy sector representing a total investment of over $800 million of thermal and hydro power plants in Sub Saharan Africa. In addition, Mrs. KWENDA assessed and secured opportunities in the transport sector as well as led business development efforts in both energy and transport in the Africa region. Prior to her position at IFC, Mrs. KWENDA was as an Investment Banker at Citigroup for 8 years covering various sectors and industries including M&A, Oil & Gas and Emerging Markets.
