Minister of Mines and Steel Development, Nigeria
Dr. Kayode Fayemi is the Minister of Mines and Steel Development in the Government of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. He is also the chairman of the governing board of the Nigeria Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative (NEITI). He previously served as Governor of Ekiti State (2010-2014). As a scholar-practitioner, he has advised various governments, multilateral institutions, and development agencies on Natural Resource Governance, Transitional Justice, Regional Integration, Constitutionalism, Security Sector Governance and Civil-Military Relations. He holds degrees in History and International Relations from University of Lagos and Obafemi Awolowo University, as well as a Doctorate in War Studies from Kings College, University of London.
