Managing Director, Generale de Banque de Mauritanie
Leïla Bouamatou is the Administrator and the Managing Director of the Générale de Banque de Mauritanie. At 35, she is the first woman to head a bank in her country. She graduated from a business school in Switzerland and holds a Master’s degree from a university in Spain and a PhD from a US university. Previously, she worked at Deloitte in Tunisia and then at BMCE in London. Last year, Forbes magazine named her one of the 10 most talented Africans under the age of 40.
