Elmarie Venter
Director, Nelson Mandela University family business unit
Elmarie is Director of the Nelson Mandela University family business unit, the first and only research unit of its kind in Africa, as well as the only African affiliate of the global STEP (Successful Transgenerational Entrepreneurship Practices) project. In addition, she is a consultant to family businesses all over South Africa and her work on family business succession is internationally recognised. Elmarie has been invited to attend more than 90 academic conferences worldwide and has received five awards for her academic papers in the field of family business. She serves on the editorial boards of several academic journals, including the well-known Family Business Review.
