James Mwangi holds five honorary doctorate degrees from various universities, including JKUAT and Kenyatta University. He holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree and is a Certified Public Accountant. He has wide experience in the banking industry including finance. He was named the World Entrepreneur of the Year by Ernst & Young in 2012.
