Beata HABYARIMANA

Group CEO, Bank of Kigali Group
Béata HABYARIMANA serves as the Group CEO of BK Group, the largest financial conglomerate in Rwanda with a total asset of 1.3 billion USD, overseeing five subsidiaries including banking, insurance, wealth management, a technology hub, and a philanthropic foundation.
With a background in economics and finance, Mrs. Béata is a seasoned professional with a proven track record in the banking industry, specializing in business restructuring and organizational transformation.
Over the past two decades, Mrs. Habyarimana has held executive positions at prominent financial institutions such as BMCE – Bank of Africa Rwanda, Agaseke Bank, and Banque Populaire du Rwanda. As one of the pioneering female leaders in the Rwandan banking sector, she is dedicated to advancing women’s financial empowerment. She is a founding member of New Faces New Voices Rwanda Chapter, a Pan-African advocacy group promoting the inclusion of women in the financial sector, and RUGORI Investment Network, a Trust Fund supporting women’s investment initiatives.
From 2021 to 2022, Mrs. Béata served as the Minister of Trade and Industry of Rwanda, where she played a pivotal role in the successful implementation of the African Continental Free Trade Area agreement.
Mrs. Béata holds an MBA in Finance from Maastricht School of Management in the Netherlands and a bachelor’s degree in Public Economics from the University of Rwanda.
