Carl LORENZ
Area Managing Director, Eastern Africa Area, Maersk
Carl Lorenz is Area Managing Director for Eastern Africa Area at A.P. Maersk. With a tenure spanning over two decades, Carl has been an integral part of the Maersk organisation since joining in 2002, demonstrating his dedication and expertise in various roles.
His journey within the company has included key leadership positions such as Head of Ocean Management for the Africa Region and Head of Revenue Management for Africa, both based in Cape Town. Prior to these roles, Carl was Head of Africa Inland and Branch Manager in Durban.
Carl’s international experience includes roles in Malaysia, Denmark, and Australia, where he held commercial management and leadership positions. Most notably, he contributed to Grindrod Intermodal as Chief Commercial Officer, demonstrating his versatility and adaptability within the maritime industry.
Carl holds a master’s degree in Logistics from Stellenbosch University in South Africa, underlining his commitment to continuous learning and professional development.
