Emery RUBAGENGA

Executive Chairman, HOURS POWER & TELECOM SOLUTIONS

Emery Rubagenga is the Executive Chairman of Horus Power & Telecom
Solution, a reputable company with operations in seven african countries.
He is the Honorary Consul of Barbados in Rwanda and the founder & CEO
of Ishango investment Limited, an investment boutique firm assisting its
partners as they navigate East Africa’s business and regulatory framework.
Prior to that, he was CEO of ROKA Global Resources Ltd, one of the largest
mining companies in Rwanda and mentored several young Rwandans to
become successful entrepreneurs through his work as the First Vice
President of the Chamber of Young Entrepreneurs of the Rwanda Private Sector Federation.
Emery is also one of the founding members of the Africa Great Lakes regional chapter of the
Young Presidents Organization (YPO). In that regard, he spearheaded various international
events promoting foreign investments in East Africa and facilitated the region’s visibility
within YPO membership in London, Hong Kong, Dubai, Paris, Toronto, and Washington DC.
He later served on the International Board of Directors of this premier global leadership
organization.
Moreover, Emery was awarded the highest Junior Chamber International (JCI) honor as the
only JCI Senator, a unique tribute paid to an individual for dedication and outstanding service
on the national level. He sits on several boards in the Rwanda’s private sector as well as
international corporations involved in the Technology, Energy and Education sectors. He has
been the local representative of PUM (Netherland Management Cooperation Program). He is
also the chairman of the Sager Ganza Microfinance organization and has been called upon to
serve on advisory boards of Agahozo-Shallom Youth Village, ITM Africa, BBOXX Africa, Junior
Achievement Africa and Bloc Fund (the first impact fund in the world that uses blended
finance, launched by Bamboo Capital Partners). Furthermore, Emery serves on the board of
trustees of the Africa Wildlife Foundation, founded in 1961, the oldest international
conservation organization focused solely on Africa.
Emery obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Business Management from the National University of
Rwanda. With certificates from the London Business School and the Maastricht School of
Management, he pursues his passion of sharpening his corporate management skills through
dedicating a significant amount of his time to executive professional development and
learning. He currently lives in Kigali with his wife and their eighteen-year old son.
