Eric EPEE

Vice President, Fortescue Africa

Eric joined Fortescue in January 2022 as the Country Manager for Fortescue Future Industries in Cameroon. Has since taken on new responsibilities first in April 2023 as the Chief Executive Officer of Ivindo Iron, the operating entity for the Belinga project in Gabon (Fortescue has a 72% indirect interest in the company). This project has the potential to revolutionize Fortescue’s portfolio and will also open growth opportunities for Fortescue throughout Africa. He has transitioned into a new role since April 2024 to become the Vice President Fortescue Africa to help drive the company’s mining and green energy projects on the continent.
Eric has brought a broad range of experiences to Fortescue, having held executive positions in Fortune 100 companies across Europe, the United States and Africa.
Prior to joining Fortescue, he was Finance Director/Deputy General Manager of Guinness Cameroon (Diageo), then Finance and Strategy Director of Guinness Nigeria (Diageo), and more recently Chief Financial Officer Africa at Upfield, the world’s largest plant-based food company.
Before the above, Eric held diverse senior finance roles in British American Tobacco (BAT), Sara Lee Corporation, PepsiCo, United Airlines, in locations as diverse as West and Central Africa, Nigeria, Switzerland and the United States.
Eric is fluent in English and French; he is an MBA Graduate from the prestigious Duke University’s Fuqua School of Business (USA), and holds a master’s degree in accounting, finance, and management sciences from the University of Paris Dauphine (France).
Eric is passionate about Africa and the transition of the continent to become a major player globally. He has built a reputation with past employers for being a great coach and mentor to his colleagues. His advice to others, “dream big, believe in yourself and your capabilities, be humble and open to learn from others every day, listen more, talk less”.
