Luka Bot ZANG

Founder and CEO, Zang Global

Zang Luka is a talented award-winning social innovator, autodidact, and researcher from Nigeria. He is the founder and CEO of Zang Global (ZangTech), an indigenous technology company that recycles electronic waste to build sustainable products such as “power banks and solar lanterns.” These products are designed to solve indigenous problems in Africa.

Zang has received several national and international recognitions for his innovations. He is driven by purpose and passion to find innovative solutions to indigenous problems in Africa. In 2019, he was awarded the prestigious award of Excellence in Technology Innovation by the Federal Government of Nigeria, which was held at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.

His project, “Driving Sustainability and Clean Energy Inclusion in Africa,” won the Energy Globe Award in 2022. Zang’s vision is to create a future where people across the continent will have access to clean energy. His company won the Best Startup Award from the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) in 2021. Avance Media listed him as one of the 100 Most Influential Young Nigerians in 2019; as an advocate of climate change, Zang is a member of YOUNGO, the official youth constituency of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC). An enabler for him to participate in global discussions on climate change and contribute to the development of sustainable solutions.

Zang is a fellow of the Western Union Foundation and a fellow of the Amahoro Coalition. These fellowships are playing a pivotal role in shaping him into an effective leader. Zang continues to push the boundaries of innovation, and his work serves as an inspiration to young people in Africa and all over the world who are committed to making a difference.
