Vice President of Industries, IFC
Mohamed Gouled is IFC’s Vice President of Industries, managing IFC’s global sector communities of practice and ensuring that lessons learned from IFC operations contribute to the World Bank Group’s global knowledge bank. He leads business development with global clients and fosters collaboration across the Bank Group to align sector strategies, enhance client delivery, and support policy/sector reforms.
Mr. Gouled, a Djiboutian national, was previously Vice President of Risk and Finance from 2017. He joined IFC in 1999 as an Investment Officer in what was then the Financial Markets Division of IFC’s Sub-Saharan Africa Department. In this role, he was instrumental in IFC’s re-engagement in Nigeria, helping to build its Financial Markets portfolio. In 2002, he joined the Global Financial Markets Department, where he worked on several key transactions, including the first residential mortgage-backed securitization in Eastern and Central Europe.
Prior to joining IFC, Mr. Gouled worked for the Treasury and the Industry and Infrastructure Departments at the African Development Bank based in Abidjan, Cote D’Ivoire.
