Dr Basak is the Global Sector Specialist covering Lifesciences, Pharma and Biotech at the World Bank Group. Subir built a career in the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industry over 30 years in roles of increasing responsibility from Merck Research Fellow, Global Operations Leader, General Manager, and CEO/President/Board member. Prior to IFC, Subir was the President and Board Member of Jubilant Life Sciences JDDS, a leading pharma company with oversight of 3 sites in US and India, Board Member of Aragen, California, Managing Director of Eli Lilly Joint Venture Vanthys, as well as the CEO and Board Member of Intas Biopharmaceuticals.
