Josephine Anan-Ankomah

GROUP EXECUTIVE COMMERCIAL BANKING, ECOBANK TRANSNATIONAL INC.

Josephine Anan-Ankomah is the Group Executive for Commercial Banking tasked to lead Ecobank Group’s commercial banking operation in 33 countries across Africa.  Her work focuses on creating relevant solutions to help build African SMEs and position them to become sustainable businesses. She pioneered the Group’s gender financing program, Ellevate by Ecobank, which provides women-owned businesses with both financial and non-financial support.  

Josephine’s decades long experience in Ecobank has seen her in senior positions such as Head of Corporate Strategy & Business Development, Chief Operating Officer for Ecobank West African Monetary Zone/East & Southern African providing support for the bank’s expansion into West, Eastern and Southern Africa, as Regional Treasurer covering The Gambia, Ghana, Liberia, Sierra Leone, Guinea and as Managing Director of Ecobank Gambia.
