A visionary strategist, Abdoul Karim Diallo is the driving force behind the modernization and expansion of the SONOCO Group. Since joining the family business in 2009, he has played a pivotal role in transforming it into a major industrial conglomerate in Guinea and across West Africa. Backed by international academic training and extensive on-the-ground experience, he now leads a group that is helping to reshape Guinea’s industrial landscape.
A Journey Fueled by Strategy and Innovation
After completing advanced studies in business management and strategy — including at Harvard Business School — Abdoul Karim Diallo began his career at SONOCO as Assistant to the General Manager. From the outset, he immersed himself in the challenges of the sector and took an active role in modernizing the company’s operations.
Just two years later, he was promoted to Deputy CEO, overseeing SONOCO’s diversification and industrialization strategy. Under his leadership, the company evolved from a trading firm into a key player in agribusiness, metallurgy, construction, and logistics, creating over 1,000 direct and indirect jobs.
In April 2023, he was appointed Chief Executive Officer, with a mandate to scale the group’s regional presence and solidify its leadership across key markets.
