Mr. Amadou Oury Bah, Prime Minister of the Republic of Guinea, is a prominent figure in Guinea’s political and economic landscape.
Born in Pita in 1958, he has combined a strong academic background in pure mathematics and economic analysis with a career dedicated to national reconciliation and the economic and social development of Guinea. Recognized for his expertise in economic management and his visionary leadership within various political structures, Mr. Bah represents a new era of governance focused on administrative efficiency and political stability. His ability to navigate complex political dialogues and economic challenges while promoting an inclusive and transparent approach serves as a model for the region.
Mr. Amadou Oury Bah began his political journey in 1991 as a co-founder of the Union of Democratic Forces of Guinea (UFDG), marking the beginning of a career dedicated to democracy and Guinea’s development.
In 2008, he was appointed Minister of National Reconciliation, Solidarity, and Relations with Institutions, where he played a crucial role in fostering peace and social cohesion at a pivotal moment in the country’s history.
His unwavering commitment to democracy was further demonstrated during his political exile from 2011 to 2016. Forced to live abroad due to his bold stance against political injustices, his time in France was marked by deep reflection and continued advocacy for political and social reform in Guinea. This challenging period only strengthened his resolve to work toward peace and national reconciliation, shaping his political vision upon his return to Guinea and positioning him as a key figure in the country’s democratic transformation process.
As he continued to rise in the political arena, Mr. Bah assumed the presidency of the Union of Democrats for the Renaissance of Guinea (UDRG) in 2020, further establishing himself as a committed leader in Guinea’s democratic renewal. From 2022 to 2024, he actively contributed to several national committees, including the Technical Commission of the National Conferences and the National Committee of the National Conferences, playing a significant role in key political and social reforms.
His expertise and dedication culminated in his appointment as Prime Minister of the Republic of Guinea in 2024. In this role, he continues to drive forward the nation’s progress and stability, reinforcing his commitment to good governance, economic development, and democratic consolidation.
