Chris Chijiutomi joined British International Investment (BII) in January 2017 and become Managing Director and Head of Africa in 2023.

Prior to this, he was Head of Infrastructure & Climate Equity at BII. In this role he was responsible for some of the most significant relationships and transactions in BII’s portfolio. This includes sitting on the boards of two key investments in Africa – Globeleq and Gridworks. He also oversaw BII’s joint venture with DP World in the creation of a platform to invest in ports and logistics assets in Africa.

In his role as MD and Head of Africa, Chris is responsible for BII’s activities in Africa including leading the rapidly growing team presence throughout the continent. 

Chris is a frequent global speaker on development and infrastructure in Africa. He holds a Masters in Engineering from the University of Surrey in the UK.
