H.E. Amadou KONE
Minister of Transport, Republic of Côte d'Ivoire

Minister Amadou KONE has been leading the Ministry of Transport since January 11, 2017.
He holds a degree in Geographical Engineering from Laval University in Canada and a Master’s degree in Land Use Planning from the University of Cocody (Abidjan).
Mr. Amadou KONE first joined the government in 2005 as Minister of Tourism.
He was later appointed Minister of African Integration in 2007, where he demonstrated strong diplomatic skills. One of his major accomplishments in this role was the successful signing of the Economic Partnership Agreements (EPAs) between Côte d’Ivoire and the European Union.
In 2011, following his ministerial roles, he was appointed Executive Director at the African Development Bank, representing Côte d’Ivoire, Equatorial Guinea, and Guinea (Conakry).
Before holding ministerial positions and his tenure at the AfDB, Amadou KONE served as Special Advisor to the Prime Minister from 2004 to 2006, in charge of the disarmament, demobilization, and reintegration (DDR) process for ex-combatants.
Since his appointment as Minister of Transport, Amadou KONE has undertaken significant reforms. These include regulatory changes and other key measures aimed at professionalizing stakeholders and modernizing the transport sector.
