H.E. Nialé KABA
Minister of Economy, Planning and Development, Republic of Côte d'Ivoire

After earning a Master’s degree in Economics from the University of Abidjan-Cocody in 1989, Nialé Kaba continued her studies in Paris, where she successively obtained an engineering diploma from the European Center for Training of Statisticians and Economists from Developing Countries (CESD) and a Postgraduate Degree (DEA) in International Economics and Development Economics from Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne University. In 1993, she graduated from the International Monetary Fund Institute with a certificate in Economic Policy Management.
She taught courses in macroeconomics, statistics, and international economics at the National School of Statistics and Applied Economics (ENSEA) in Abidjan, before joining the Prime Minister’s Office in 1991, where she became widely recognized for her expertise in fiscal and budgetary matters.
From 1996 to 2005, she held several senior positions: Chief of Staff to the Prime Minister, then Deputy Chief of Staff at the Ministry of Economy and Finance, and later Chief of Staff to the Minister of Handicrafts and Informal Sector Development. Between 2005 and 2007, she served as Director General of Côte d’Ivoire Tourism.
In 2011, Nialé Kaba joined the government as Minister for Housing Promotion, before making history in 2012 as the first Ivorian woman to be appointed Minister of Economy and Finance, a position she held until 2016. On January 12, 2016, she was appointed Minister of Planning and Development, and was reappointed to the role on April 6, 2021.
In March 2021, Nialé Kaba was elected Member of Parliament for the Bouna-Bouko commune and sub-prefecture constituency, under the RHDP party banner.
