Mark-Alexandre DOUMBA
Minister of Digital Economy and Innovation, Gabonese Republic

Mark-Alexandre DOUMBA has been the Minister of Digital Economy, Digitalization, and Innovation of the Gabonese Republic since May 2025. In this capacity, he leads the country’s national digital transformation strategy, with a strong focus on modernizing and digitalizing public services, promoting digital inclusion, fostering technological innovation, and building a competitive digital economy. He previously served as Minister of Economy and Participations.
Prior to joining the government, he worked in investment, development finance, and digital transformation, leading initiatives across Africa, Asia, and the Middle East. He notably co-founded the first licensed neobank in Central Africa, regulated by the Bank of Central African States (BEAC), and contributed to the creation of the Green Climate Fund.
Mark-Alexandre DOUMBA holds degrees from George Washington University, the London School of Economics, and Harvard Kennedy School, where he served as Editor-in-Chief of the Africa Policy Journal.
He is also a Foundry Fellow at MIT and was named a Young Global Leader 2025 by the World Economic Forum in Davos.
