Mathieu Friedberg is chief executive officer of CEVA Logistics, a subsidiary of the CMA CGM Group, a global player in sea, land, air and logistics solutions, headquartered in Marseille, France. With 2024 revenue of $18.3 billion, 110,000 employees, and operations in 170 countries, CEVA Logistics has one of the largest logistics portfolios in the industry, covering contract logistics, freight management, finished vehicle logistics, digital solutions and value-added services.
In his role as CEO since January 2020, Friedberg is responsible for the overall vision, direction and management of the company’s activities in order to deliver purpose to its employees, value to its customers and profitability to its shareholder. Under his leadership, CEVA Logistics has developed into a Top 5 global player in the logistics industry. As CEO of CEVA, Friedberg also serves as a member of the CMA CGM Group’s Executive Committee.
With nearly 30 years in the shipping and logistics industry, Friedberg has spent nearly 20 years in leadership positions with the CMA CGM Group. Before his current role, he was senior vice president in charge of the sales network and the Group’s agencies. Previously to that role, he managed CMA CGM Log, which was the Group’s logistics entity before its integration into CEVA Logistics. He was also CFO of Delmas beginning in 2006 before taking over as general manager in 2011. He holds academic degrees in economics, finance and management from Science Po and INSEAD.
