Mezuo Nwuneli is a business leader and impact investor with over 27 years of experience in private equity, agribusiness, and private capital investing. Entrepreneurial – he co-founded, built, and Chairs the board of two companies within the food and agricultural sector operating across sub-Saharan Africa – AACE Foods (seasonings and packaged food manufacturer) and Sahel Consulting (specialist agricultural sector management consulting firm). He is Managing Partner of a third firm he founded – Sahel Capital, which has raised $100 million since inception to back primarily family-owned agribusiness SMEs in Africa with growth equity and private credit capital. Since 2010, he has focused on transforming Africa’s food and agribusiness sector to ensure resilient foods systems, food security, and depth of regional food supply chains.
Mezuo serves on diverse boards including MTN Nigeria, Hygeia HMO, First World Communities, Harvard Business School Board of Dean’s Advisors, and the African Private Capital Association (AVCA).
Mezuo holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Harvard Business School, and received a B.Sc. in Industrial Management, with a minor in Information Systems, from Carnegie Mellon University. He was recognized by his alma-matta in 2021 when he received the Harvard Business School Alumni Achievement Award. He is also an Eisenhower Fellow and an Archbishop Desmond Tutu Fellow.
