Mmakgoshi LEKHETHE

Mmakgoshi Lekhethe is an accomplished executive with over 20 years of experience in the public finance sector. She has a distinguished track record of leadership roles in international financial institutions, multilateral development banks, and global economic bodies such as the G20, World Economic Forum (WEF), and BRICS.
Before her current role at the IDC, Ms. Lekhethe served as the Deputy Director General of the Asset and Liability Management division at the National Treasury of South Africa. She also held the positions of Deputy Director General of Tax and Financial Sector Policy, and Deputy Director General of International and Regional Economic Policy.
During her tenure at the Treasury, she represented South Africa on the Boards of the African Development Bank, the New Development Bank, and the World Bank, demonstrating her extensive expertise in international finance and economic policy.
Ms. Lekhethe holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree in Economics from the University of Durban Westville, a Bachelor of Commerce (Honours) in Economics from the University of the Witwatersrand, and a Master of Science in Economics from the University of London.
