Trudi MAKHAYA

Trudi is an expert in economic policy, sustainability and economic diplomacy and brings with her a wealth of experience and expertise from her previous roles. Between 2018 and 2023, she served as full time economic advisor to President Cyril Ramaphosa, providing technical support to the President on economic policy and acting as his negotiator at the G20 (sherpa).
A prominent South African economic leader, Trudi was a member of the executive committee of the Competition Commission of South Africa and served as Deputy Commissioner. Prior to public service, Trudi held various management consulting and corporate roles. Trudi’s advisory roles include serving on the economic advisory council of World Bank President Ajay Banga; non-executive directorships at JSE-listed Spar Group, MTN South Africa, Vumelana Advisory Fund.
