Sarvesh SURI

Regional Industry Director Infrastructure & Natural Resources, Africa, IFC

Sarvesh Suri is IFC’s Regional Industry Director, Infrastructure & Natural Resources (INR), Africa, based in Johannesburg, South Africa. His leads a continent-wide team to develop and implement the Infrastructure & Natural Resources strategy and business priorities in Africa, working along with the World Bank Group and other partners. IFC is growing its business and impact in the region, and is launching initiatives to mitigate the critical, sustainable infrastructure gaps facing the region today. He leads long-term finance, i.e. equity and loan investments, with private sector businesses of circa US$2 billion per annum on the continent.

Prior to this role, Sarvesh was MIGA’s Operations Director for Climate, Energy, Extractives, Capital and Financial Markets industries. Earlier, he had led the Agency’s operations globally for over 5 years. During this time, MIGA’s business grew considerably to a portfolio of over US$24 billion, with impact in priority areas of climate finance, and IDA/ FCS countries.

Before MIGA, Sarvesh was with IFC for over 15 years in various leadership roles, including as Senior Regional Manager for Indonesia, Malaysia and Thailand, Special Assistant to IFC’s EVP & CEO, and Senior Investment Officer.

Sarvesh is an Indian national and holds a Post-Graduate Diploma in Business Management from the Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad, and a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from Delhi University.
