A doctor by training, specialising in children’s and women’s health, Dr Precious Moloi-Motsepe is a philanthropist, Chancellor of the University of Cape Town and founder of African Fashion International.

As co-founder and CEO of the Motsepe Foundation – one of the continent’s largest philanthropic organisations – she directly supports 12 of the 17 SDGs. Through the Motsepe Foundation, she has funded the university education of over 2,500 students, led initiatives promoting gender-responsive budgeting in the South African Parliament, and published a resource guide entitled The Little Black Book for marginalised women. 

Other Motsepe Foundation programmes include initiatives in primary and secondary education and leadership; activities in the fields of sport, music and the arts; community development; a Centre for Gender Equality, Wellbeing and Leadership; and collaborations with stakeholders and governments on initiatives to promote social cohesion, including a partnership with the Schwab Foundation for Social Entrepreneurship.
