Emmanuel Lubanzadio is the Africa Lead at OpenAI where he leads the strategic engagement across the continent at the intersection of Policy, Partnership and Ecosystem Development. Prior to joining OpenAI, Emmanuel built a career spanning Africa, Europe and the United States, working at the nexus of Technology, Public Policy, and Government Relations.
His experience includes senior leadership and advisory roles such as Head of Government Affairs for Africa at Twitter, Policy Advisor at the UN, and Consultant to Block (Afterpay, CashApp, Square and Tidal). Earlier in his professional tenure, he held Policy and Government Relations roles at the German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ), Fresenius Group, the Center for International Private Enteprise (CIPE) and the U.S. Congress.
Fluent in English, French, German and Lingala, Emmanuel has been recognised as an Atlantic Dialouges Emerging Leader, Atlantik Bruecke Young Leader, a Congressional Black Caucus Emerging Leader and Schmidt Futures International Strategy Forum Fellow.
Drawing on his experience across the global technology ecosystem, he is committed to empowering people and institutions to leverage the power of technology as a catalyst for economic growth and societal transformation.
