Prof. Dayalan GOVENDER

People and Organisation Transformation leader, PwC

Dayalan is a director / partner within PWC advisory. He has over 20 years’ experience in large scale organisation and workforce transformation projects in many industries / sectors across Africa & globally. He commenced his career in Education as an educator, then moved into higher education, and then went on to serve a stint in the military (SAPS) from an HRD and then management services perspective. He went on to serve in government in some senior positions and once again entered higher Education in executive management positions. After going into corporate he then finally entered into management consulting in the Advisory space working for PwC and leading a number of key strategic projects in SA, across Africa and Globally as well.He holds several qualifications in the areas of Education, Management & leadership, HRD, Law, Psychology, Governance etc, and most recently completed his doctorate studies, PhD – Leadership with the Thames International University in France, Paris. He currently leads the PWC – organisation and workforce capability / practice across Africa. He has led several large-scale transformation projects across all sectors inclusive of financial services, Mining, Energy, Telecommunications and Government (National, Provincial, Cities) and State-owned entities. He currently serves on the board of the SABPP as the vice-chair and is a certified director with the institute of Directors– SA (IoD- SA). He is enthusiastic & passionate about people and workforce transformation and plays a key role on the global solutions initiative (GSI) as it relates to job creation for the youth across Africa. He has presented at several African and Global wide platforms as it relates to Organisation and workforce transformation.He has published several articles and presented at several global forums in this space and continues to service government in his role at PWC across Africa. He received the CEO award from the SABPP in 2022, for his outstanding contribution in the people management domain in SA/Africa. He is also an accredited Master HR professional with the SABPP since 2018. He currently also serves as a part time guest lecturer at a few reputable universities across SA on their respective MBA & Leadership programmes. In addition to the above, he recently received the auspicious & special award at the Indo-Global, nternational business symposium in Bangkok Feb 2024, for his dedication, experience, & achievements and overall contribution to the nation and society. Dayalan was awared his associate professorship title with the NWU – Business school in 2024.
