Hicham El Habti is the President of University Mohammed VI Polytechnic (UM6P). A Moroccan research-driven university advancing science and innovation across Africa. Since joining UM6P  as Secretary General in 2017 and becoming President in 2020, he has focused on connecting research, industry, and policy to address Africa’s most pressing challenges.

He joined the OCP Group in 2013, after leading several companies in Morocco and working in consulting in France, a trajectory that helped shape a strategic perspective connecting industry, innovation and education. Hicham El Habti holds a PhD degree from the “Conservatoire National des Arts et Métiers” (CNAM) in Paris, focused on how innovation management evolves within industrial ecosystems through higher education. He is also a graduate of “École Polytechnique in applied mathematics and economics”, and holds a DESS Master’s degree from École Nationale des Ponts et Chaussées.
