Abdullahi Tsanni is a science writer and editor focusing on Africa.

Until February 2026, he served as an associate editor at Springer Nature, where he covered science, research systems, and research policy across Africa, and supported African scientists and institutions to communicate evidence effectively to global and regional audiences. He was an editorial fellow at MIT Technology Review from 2023-2024, where he covered artificial intelligence, and his many other stories have been published in leading international outlets including Nature, BMJ, and Science Magazine.

He holds a master’s degree in science writing from the Massachusetts Institutes of Technology (MIT).
