Funso F. Akere is the Africa Regions Head of Mergers & Acquisitions Advisory at Standard Bank, bringing expertise in financial advisory and strategic investments, supported by an MBA from The University of Chicago Booth School of Business.

Their background includes leadership roles within Standard Bank, demonstrating a focus on investment banking and capital markets across the African continent. As Head Chief Executive Officer of Stanbic Ibtc Capital & Investment Banking (Nigeria), they oversaw strategic initiatives and financial operations. Earlier, as Head Corporate Finance at Stanbic Ibtc Capital Executive (Nigeria), they contributed to corporate strategy and financial management.

Prior to these roles, Funso served as Africa Corporate Finance Executive at Standard Bank, demonstrating applied knowledge of financial planning and corporate strategy. They also held the position of Head Senior VP, Debt Capital Markets, at Stanbic Ibtc.
