Mbithi Masya is a filmmaker, creative strategist, and one of Africa’s most influential creative forces. As former Creative Director for Girl Effect in Africa, he has shaped brand and content movements across the continent, launching youth media platforms and storytelling initiatives that have reached millions.

Through the NBO Film Festival, which he co-founded and leads as Artistic Director, he connects Kenyan audiences to global cinema while championing African and diasporic storytelling, turning Nairobi into a hub of cinematic conversation. 

With experience spanning award-winning film, digital media, and large-scale social impact campaigns, Mbithi has built content ecosystems from the ground up and led multi-country creative teams, moving fluidly across commercial, artistic, and activist creative spaces.
