An agricultural engineer with a Master’s degree in Management Science, Mr. Pierre Gerkens has built a structured and progressive career across several industries and African markets.

He began his professional journey with two years in audit at PwC Luxembourg, specialising in financial audit, before joining the Socfin Group in Cameroon, where he worked for three years as a management controller in the agro-industrial sector.

He subsequently served for two years as Financial Controller for SDV, a subsidiary of the Bolloré Group, in the logistics sector in Congo-Brazzaville.

Mr. Gerkens then spent twelve years within BIA Group, a major player in the public works and industrial equipment sector and distributor of brands such as Komatsu and Bomag. During this period, he held the position of Managing Director across several countries including Burkina Faso, Togo, Benin and Cameroon.

Since September 2024, he has been serving as Managing Director of Africa Logistics Zone in Cotonou for Port of Antwerp-Bruges International, operating in the port and logistics sector.
