Shruti Aggarwal is leading Rwanda’s flagship 50MW methane gas-to-power project. She is a transformational C-suite leader with over 19 years of cross-border experience spanning energy infrastructure, financial services, and corporate governance across Africa. Shruti has a strong track record of driving strategic growth, executing complex capital structures, and scaling businesses in frontier markets. Her expertise spans corporate finance, risk management, commercial optimisation, and regulatory compliance. A trusted advisor to boards, investors, governments, and regulators, she has successfully led high-impact projects and navigated complex stakeholder environments in the energy and infrastructure sectors. She is an alumna of Harvard Business School and a full-scholarship recipient of the Senior Executive Programme at London Business School, where she is also an alumna.
She is a Fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (FCCA), the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (FCMA), and the Chartered Governance Institute (FCGI).
She holds a First-Class Honours BSc in Applied Accounting from Oxford Brookes University and has completed Level II of the Chartered Financial Analyst Program.
At Shema Power, Shruti is driving Rwanda’s largest methane-to-power initiative, with a strong focus on innovation, operational excellence, and sustainability. She is equally committed to advancing women in energy, dedicating her time to mentorship and leadership development in a sector where female representation remains limited.
Beyond her executive role, she serves as a Non-Executive Director and Chair of the Audit Committee at Old Mutual Insurance Rwanda, and as a Board Member of the British Chamber of Commerce in Rwanda. She is also a member of the Young Presidents’ Organization (YPO), reflecting her commitment to leadership excellence and continuous growth.
