Mr. Soumya Banerjee is the Acting Regional Industry Director for Infrastructure in Africa at the International Finance Corporation (IFC), part of the World Bank Group, and is based in Nairobi. 
He is a seasoned senior infrastructure investment professional with long-standing experience across power and other core infrastructure sectors in emerging markets. In his current role, he provides regional oversight and strategic leadership for IFC’s infrastructure activities in Africa, working closely with investment teams and senior management to advance priority operations and partnerships across the continent. 

Mr. Banerjee has been with IFC since 2007, most recently serving as a Regional Industry Manager for East Africa, overseeing infrastructure and energy investments in East Africa. Earlier in his career, he worked in project development and equity investments in the power sector at Siemens Project Ventures.
