Yasmin KUMI

Chair, African Hidden Champions

Yasmin Kumi is the Chair of African Hidden Champions and the CEO / Founder of Africa Foresight Group (AFG), a women-led company transforming African businesses into global champions. AFG co-founded the African Hidden Champions (AHC) initiative in 2021 to support homegrown mid-sized African companies in becoming global leaders in collaboration with the German Investment Corporation (DEG) and the African Development Bank. The network counts more than 50 companies from across Africa with average revenues of 200mn and aims to facilitate the creation of 2.5mn jobs. AFG also runs a training platform called AHEAD that supports young professionals on their journey towards becoming flexible workers in Africa with a unique curriculum that combines African studies and business skills enhancement. Currently, the platform has more than 3,000 people from 20+ countries in training. AFG’s flagship product Peralta, the VC-backed business arm of the organization, operates as a marketplace for gig work supporting SMEs in over 25 African markets. 

Yasmin began her career at McKinsey & Company and, during her MSc at Oxford, served as the President of the Oxford University Africa Society. Yasmin has received accolades such as the Harambe Gold Room Award and being listed as one of Ghana’s “30 under 30” pioneers. AFG has been featured in CNN, Forbes and The Economist.
