RESHAPING WOMEN’S ACCESS AND LEADERSHIP IN AFRICA’S FINANCE

Women’s access to finance on the continent is disproportionately low, with an estimated $42 billion financing gap for African women across business value chains. Within the financial services sector, women are also largely underrepresented, with less than 24% women as top senior executives, board members and regulators.

It is against this background that, the first Gender Champion Meeting will help us to understand the opportunities and barriers that women face not only in achieving greater access to the financial services sector, but also in rising in it, professionally.

Those conversations will also challenge our top +300 African leaders to share practical and specific recommendations to advance gender diversity in finance and increase women’s access to financial services for positive changes on the continent.
